Quality backed
by expertise...
the history of GAZ SHOCKS.
Gazzard Engineering Company was formed in 1967 by Brian Gazzard
and his brother Christopher, for the purposes of producing high quality
machined components for the automotive industry. The first site the
company occupied was in North Ockendon and at that time, the fledgling
company boasted a workforce of just three, but always had an eye
to future expansion.
In 1971 due to increased market demands
for its products the company moved to a 2000 sq ft site in Rainham,
Essex where it then employed 12 people. Continuing the Gazzard
Engineering tradition as a family run firm, two of Brian’s
sons Mark and Warren, joined the company in 1985 bringing in by
then urgently needed engineering
design expertise and youthful enthusiasm.
Much later in 1993 Gazzard Engineering were
proud to attain ISO 9001 accreditation that is eagerly sought by
every major automotive manufacturer. This ensures that every product
produced by the company then and now, meets the very highest standards
of workmanship and materials available anywhere in the world. Furthermore,
in 2007 TUV certification was achieved to meet exacting standards
now required in Europe with yearly inspections by an accredited body
which
ensures that the production process remains one of uncompromising
quality.
Four years later due to a period of sustained growth, the company
moved to its present location in Basildon and is now housed in a
modern 12,500 sq ft factory with a total workforce of 34.
Towards the end of 2000 Gazzard Engineering
identified a gap in the shock absorber market and launched their
own product range, Gaz Shocks. With over 20 year’s experience
manufacturing components for a number of top names in the shock
absorber industry this was a natural progression. With the majority
of components used for the production of their shock absorbers
manufactured in house, they can guarantee both the quality of their
products and their competitive pricing structure.
Since the inception of Gaz Shocks, they have quickly established
an enviable reputation in the kit car, stock car and classic car
market place.Through their sponsorship of the Mighty Mini series,
they have made major in-roads into the performance damper market
for the ever popular Mini. This has resulted in an upsurge in sales
worldwide, including an increased market share in Japan.
By now firmly established in the performance sector of the market
Gaz have continued to grow by investment in both technology and their
workforce. To produce a fantastic product you need excellent manufacturing
facilities. State of the art CNC turning centres, over 40 auto screw
machines and a large number of high production rotary transfer second
operation machines enables them to produce the product that your
customers need and demand! Each member of staff is subject to ongoing
training that enables them to perform any engineering task within
the factory. This seamless approach to the manufacturing process
ensures that a last minute rush to meet order deadlines is a thing
of the past. Product flows freely from the factory, whilst special
order items are always a pleasure.
Latest product introductions include a small but significant range
of adjustable struts, inserts and complete suspension kits to cover
important applications within the fast road car market. This will
be supported by a worldwide advertising campaign to increase consumer
awareness of a truly superb product.
With over 40 years of high quality component
manufacturing behind them Gazzard Engineering are proud to still
be a family business. An affordable product designed to satisfy and
exceed the expectations of every customer, guarantees that this company's
future will continue to be one of growth and prosperity. |
