Lotus Racing at Spa

A good weekend had by all again at Spa with E S Motorsport looking after Ben Hyland, Dave Carr and Neil Stothert and strong results with Ben Hyland winning both races and Dave Carr getting one third place and a DNF whilst running in second place because of a faulty coilpack, Neil Stothert managed a sixth and seventh place.

All drivers were running the latest Gaz Monotubes and Ben Hyland switched from Gaz Gold Pro the week before with very satisfying results.

"We (finally) replaced the old suspension with the new Gaz Monotubes as it was my first visit to Spa. The Monotubes have totally transformed the racecar's handling characteristics. E S Motorsport did a great job with the set-up, the car felt balanced through the slow corners and extremely well planted in the fast bends at Spa. Both races were closely fought with the car handling and braking consistently well throughout. Thanks to everybody at PpiK, E S Motorsport and Gaz for their effort and support over the last two seasons, these two victories have been long coming"

MA5DA RACING

Following a fast and furious season at Ma5da racing, with racing at the front end as competative as ever, Rob Boston has won the championship in his second year of racing in the series. Things would have been even tighter with second place man Tom Roche but DNF's on several occasions for mechanical failures cost Tom valuble points.

Gaz are proud to support this series and are the only damper company that provide technical support at all of the races to ensure that spares are on hand if any drivers damage suspension components.
The support of Gaz has been appreciated by the drivers and despite being one of three approved damper manufacturers for the series, our support has resulted in over 80% of the field switching to the Gaz products and indeed Rob and Tom have regularly set lap records this year on Gaz shocks.

We look forward to further involvement with Ma5da Racing next year and are proud to announce that the new Mazda Mk3 championship[ will be launched and thanks to our success with the Mk1 series, Gaz suspension will be mandatory fitment in this championship.

Manx Telecom National B Rally

We were 3rd in the Manx Telecom National B Rally that we took part last weekend. I have enclosed a picture of us on the finishing podium.

Car ran perfectly for the first time out, a dream start to the Championship with an additional Trophy.

Roads on the Isle of Man were testing, demanding and every bit as dangerous as we had been warned, even more so on the night sections.

Hello again everyone and Happy new year. The Motrsport Technik Team is wishing you health, happyness and a very successful 2010.

First we have good news. The last motorsport year was very successful for our team, and I became a champion in the Time Attack championship with our GAZ fitted M3 Evo. After the small problems we have tuning the suspension we made it to the top, dominating the whole championship and took the title. Thank you for the good work and the good product we have from you. Now everyone is asking for the setup we are using on our championship wining car and I think the orders for GAZ products will be more and more frequent.

Brands Hatch Report

From slow beginnings at the back end of last season, the two Gaz Shocks E30 BMW cars driven by Mark and Warren Gazzard are starting to come together as a complete team in the Gaz Shocks Production Cup and Toyo tyres championship series.

Despite their novice status Mark and Warren made great strides forward, due in no small part to the A team of Dave Lyon from the Gaz technical department and a couple of his motorsport preparation friends. With Dave fine tuning suspension and his assistants checking tyre temperatures and pressures, times tumbled as Mark and Warren go to gips with their better handling cars.

As always with a new team and inexperienced drivers, challenging problems with Mark's car for an intermittent cutting out problem, caused we believe by a faulty fuel pump and Warren testing the limits of grip on not very warm tyres and finding them, hence a couple of visits to the kitty litter. Nothing could dampen our enthusiasm however because Warren was circulating in just over the minute and running twelfth before the mishaps.

All in a great day out and we hope to see friends and customers at future rounds.

Here are some pics of the top gear car that we put the suspension on for the Britcar 24 hour endurance race at Silverstone in September.

We also had two Porsche 968 cars come in in 18th and 19th places.
